WHEEL & ALTERATION WORKSHOP
Spend a weekend with ceramic artist Eric Stearns and expand your knowledge of the thrown form and surface design. In this two-day workshop, participants will be guided by the artist to throw selected signature forms including plates, bowls and double-walled vessels. Explore his process for creating intricate pierced designs on the surface of your work. Conclude the workshop with Stearns demonstrating a raku firing of his work. All participants must have a strong working knowledge of ceramics and advanced wheel throwing skills. Work will be bisqued upon request and available for pickup two weeks after the event. Current Art Center students will have the option to glaze fire work during the fall 2017 term. Material fee covers cost of clay and bisque firing; tool kits available for purchase if needed.
